It’d been quite some time since the first egg was supposedly  laid (see Spring Sunday March) so I hopped along to Swanpool to see if any swan babies had arrived yet. Mrs Swan was still sat tight, keeping up appearances at the country pile with a quick preen. Well I suppose there’s not much else she can be getting on with as yet; but – going by the loose timetable of events I overheard from one who purported to know, a forty-ish day incubation should be up within the next few days… watch this space!
