This a landscape blog where the images are presented through the medium of creative non-fictional writing with the odd snapshot for decorative purposes.
My intention is to create a comprehensive ‘photo album’ exploring the landscapes around us by physically doing just that and rendering my own interpretations of my findings not as a definitive explanation but more as a window that you have to look through yourself in order to be able to see what’s really there.
You can look at as many forecasts as you like, but the best way to find out what the weather’s like is to open the curtains and take a look outside for yourself.
My name is Merryn Robinson and I live, work, write and faff around in Cornwall, UK.
I’m originally from Berkshire and ended up in Falmouth when I relocated to go to university. I studied coastal environmental management, later following that up with a postgraduate degree in nature writing and managing to stick around afterwards because I quite like it here.
Aside from wandering about in the great outdoors scribbling in my notebook and taking photos – some of the product of which ends up on here – I also like baking, reading, making my own Christmas cards and drinking tea. I dislike bananas, conversations about football, spiders, food in the kitchen sink and the fact that I’m allergic to cats.
Comments, suggestions, requests and criticism always welcome. Grammatical corrections open for discussion, style issues negotiable.
All photographs featured are my own unless otherwise credited (hover over each image for citation). I am licensing my own work for reasonable use under creative commons, however please credit me, preferably with a link to the source, if you use anything.
